Day 2: Church Bay to Cemaes

Photo opportunity before heading our separate ways - Alan's birthday today so he joined Gill, leaving Glenise with Sue to go playing on a beach - both safe from the cliff paths to come !

some very rugged cliff faces on the north coast of the island

permanent boardwalks in many places of the coastal trail to make wet areas passable

At this point, the book said 'don't go over the ladder style, take the path straight ahead.......'!?!?!
  - not the first pause/paws for thought due to the boggy ground in so many places!!

rugged and remote and intimidating if you suffer from vertigo as I discovered, but stunning views

more farmers' fields today, some of the cows very reluctant to budge and let us through

not only cows wanting us to NOT cross their territory, farmers also keen to
keep us out with their electrified fences ๐Ÿคฏ

so cute

mum and lambs out for a walk

the walk leads you across Cemlyn Lagoon, a wildlife sanctuary,
the home of the largest tern colony in Britain,  roped off to protect nesting birds April-August

Wylfa Nuclear Power Station is at the far north of Anglesey and the route
meticulously circumnavigates the secure site

ever walked under a giant electricity pylon??

Glenise came to meet us at the end of an EXHAUSTING day ๐Ÿ˜ซ
