Days 10 and 11 Two days to deal with the next section of the coastal for various reasons - adverse weather, FOURTEEN miles in total, minor car sickness, Angie and Mason ๐Ÿฆฎ coming to join us for a couple of nights, and most importantly really must conserve energy for the final push from Trearddur up to Holyhead!! Beep, beep, beep, red light alert - mechanic Alan opens bonnet of Sue's car, speaks sharply to whatever lies underneath, red light disappears (for now?????) Diagnosis - something's blocking your cooling system..........but t he walk has to go on..........๐Ÿ‘พ๐Ÿ’ On the road walking by 9am Monday morning (a first!!!) in blustery rainy weather, to cover some 6-7 miles from Aberffraw to the first Rhosneigr beach. The old bridge at Aberffraw was our dropping off/starting point today in very wild, wet and blowy conditions.                              Terrain today was mainly cliff paths, but there were occasional stretches of beach with pebbles and shingle. Quite a few grassy

Day 9 - Newborough to Aberffraw What a fabulous day for sunshine, sea and sand!! Lots of sand dunes and very fine sand for most of Newborough beach - reminded me of childhood visits to beaches at Prestatyn and Flint Even the paths around the forest perimeter were sandy and Glenise loved every minute as this was a day she could roam safely off the lead (and dip into muddy puddles ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿถ) not a good place for nearly losing a dog lead - oops!  thanks for finding it, Alan๐Ÿ‘Œ  endless sand dunes and miles of sandy beach, only the sky changed its shade of blue now this was brave/crazy........the sea temperature certainly wasn't that great ๐Ÿฅถ, we're still in April! think I'm the distant dot on the beach Sunday afternoon, fabulous weather and still no beach crowds even a panorama shot doesn't do justice to the vast expanse of beach all around the perimeter of Newborough forest where the coastal route leads! A favourite day for Glenise and all dogs, simply no competition ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿถ WOOF!

Day 8 - Llanfairpwll to Newborough Who'd have thought we'd meet Nelson on the banks of Menai Strait looking down to Plas Newydd (National Trust stately home)?!?!  The statue was apparently erected in 1850 to help guide shipping, prior to Thomas Telford building his high suspension bridge, which then allowed tall ships to navigate this troublesome stretch of water. The route passes through St Mary's Church, where a funeral was scheduled to take place this morning (Saturday).  A good number of graves contain the bodies of lives lost due to war - death in service or tragically very young life lost in equally tragic circumstances. An idyllic path just a little inland from the Menai Strait Due to time constraints and a very boggy field, we had to miss visiting Bryn Celli Ddu Burial Chamber but were compensated by a lovely coffee spot at Moel y Don, close to the water's edge.  Will have to find time on a future visit to see the 4000 year old Solstice Cottage and a Druid pass
