Day 7 Beaumaris to Llanfairpwhll...............gogogoch
We could hardly believe our luck this morning - the sun was shining once again as we did washing, hung it out on the line, made a casserole for tea in the slow cooker and all before 9am π€£, then we headed out to Beaumaris to begin a short 8 mile walk π. We strolled up to Llandegfan, then wended our way downwards to Menai Strait en route to the day's finish at Llanfair PG.
This was a very steep hill - the camera lies!
First donkeys of the week, living a very comfortable luxurious life overlooking Menai Strait π
Bird's Eye View of Bangor Garth Pier that leads out from Bangor

Brew time at Llandegfan
As Glenise (bless her, she's doing sooooooo wellπ€) needed another rest day, Sue and I got our dog fix from 2 lovely local ladies out walking their dogs. Quote of the day from the lady in purple said with the best Welsh lilt, "You 'ave to be mad to be 'appy!!" Very true/profound in these crazy times.
Lovely little shop for a nice residential area
'Siop' and bus route today - such a contrast to the isolated coastal cliff walks/climbs earlier in the week!!
Comfortable 7-8 miles today, even had time for a civilised cafe cuppa in Menai Bridge π΅π§
Menai suspension bridge - amazing structure as you approach and eventually walk underneath it.
Not the easiest or safest waters to sail in between the 2 Menai bridges - 'swellies' are the problem!
Fantastic structure
We mused at the Druid stone circles as we had a sandwich on one of the many benches in the really pleasant park area by the straits, but no red squirrels brave enough to come out. Only the occasional rabbit scurried by.
Never knew I'd appreciate bridge structures so much.........
must come and visit this spot in the future - church on an island
Our guide book (Carl Rogers) claims today's section is one of the nicest parts of the coastal path. Inclined to agree, the so-called Belgian Promenade, St Tysilio's situated on an island and the contrasting Coedmor Woods make for a very relaxing couple of miles to end the walk.
Hide for birdwatchers
Selfies still need more work!! Almost included the Britannia Bridge!
Today's walk offered amazing views of the Welsh mountains over the 'troubled waters' of the Menai Strait, rolling green hillsides and houses of all shapes and sizes from which to view the beautiful landscape - one of our favourite stretches of the walk so far π
